Regenerative Systems Atlas
Explore the connected wastewater-to-regeneration system.
Eighteen research domains, each with three subtopics, linked by explained relationships. The domains are an editorial taxonomy, not performance ratings of any utility. Relationships are original synthesis. Related sources are shown for context and do not prove a relationship.

Where consequences travel
18 domains, 32 cross-domain relationships and 2 closed loops found in the register. Select a domain to see what its decisions reach, or open a loop to see it on the graph.
Closed loops
Chains of relationships that lead back to where they started. A change anywhere on a loop can return to its origin.
What returns? (Analytical inference)
- What comes back
- Information and decisions, not material. Soil and water monitoring results (R27) are meant to trigger correction and stewardship. Auditable records (R36) are meant to shape adaptive management.
- Physical effect
- None is asserted. The loop is a management feedback. Any physical effect would come only from corrective action that the register does not describe.
- Basis
- Monitoring-then-correction is a general management idea, but its application to these topics is the register's own inference. No source has been checked for it.
- What is missing
- The two relationships join different topics in each domain: R27 ends at Long-term accountability and correction, while R36 starts at Evidence, provenance and audit and ends at Adaptive management and stewardship. The register links none of these topics to each other, so the return path is assumed, not shown.
What returns? (Analytical inference)
- What comes back
- Information. Mass and energy balances (R29) supply the quantities that cost estimates use. Option analysis (R34) is meant to change design and commissioning scope, which would in turn change the balances.
- Physical effect
- None is asserted as a feedback. The balance-to-cost step is arithmetic on the numbers supplied. The design change is a decision, not a physical effect.
- Basis
- The balance-to-cost direction follows from how costs are calculated. The option-to-design direction is plausible project practice. Neither has a checked source behind it here.
- What is missing
- R29 starts at Mass and energy balances and ends at Capital and operating economics. R34 starts at Baseline and options and ends at Design and commissioning evidence. These topics do not chain, so the loop closes between the domains only.

Loops, reach and questions are derived from the structure of the register. They show where to look, not how large an effect is.
